New year has begun, but early on New Year’s Day, the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture was hit by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
This scene brought back memories of the Great East Japan Earthquake of 311, 12 years ago, when I myself was a victim of the disaster.
I am at a loss for words to express my deepest sympathy for the victims of the disaster.
Unfortunately, earthquakes can happen anywhere in Japan.
None of the buildings we have designed has been damaged by an earthquake.
As architects and seismic assessors, we will continue to create buildings that are strong enough to withstand earthquakes.
This will also be the year we take on the challenge of ever-evolving design and creativity.
Our partnership with our clients will be further deepened through collaboration on new projects, and we will create buildings that will be appreciated by the people of the community.
All of us will work hard to meet the demands of our clients and provide projects that will satisfy them even more.
